The Strange Blue Dreams
The Strange Blue Dreams deal in dramatic pop, gypsy swing, skiffle, doo-wop and ballads from the music hall to the jet age. Described by Vic Galloway (BBC) as a Glaswegian version of the legendary Nashville A-team of the late 1950's, the band comprises five of Scotland’s most in demand roots musicians. Some combination or other of the members of The Strange Blue Dreams have produced between them eleven albums and a slew of singles and EPs. This collection of records have seen these back room boys continually develop their writing and arranging beyond the genre studies often associated with roots music. What unites the group is a love of the mavericks of popular songwriting from Morricone to Meek, Ellington to Orbison. Deft lyrics are framed by atmospheric arrangements, impassioned performances and the band's trademark soaring harmony vocals.

Awkward Family Portraits
"Awkward Family Portraits bring contemporary folk and Americana to the streets of Glasgow with a roguish charm and style that elevates them far above the stereotypes of the genre, Awkward Family Portraits are a band that have one central goal and that is to get you to abandon all of the outside world’s hang-ups and move. The brainchild of four likeminded musicians with a wealth of originality and technical skill at their disposal, you only need to catch the briefest glimpse of one of their live shows to feel an insatiable urge to make your way into the crowd and their recent King Tut’s New Year’s Revoluton headline show was a clear sign of the potential for growth that resides within their material."

The Modern Record
Les Johnson & Me
Somewhere between Gentleman Jim Reeves, Tennessee Ernie Ford and Johnny Cash with a distinctly Glasgwegian twang. Les Johnson & Me, the brainchild of one Kenny Macdonald, perform songs of an effortlessly timeless nature. Often backed by a selection of the who's who of the what's what of Glasgow's underground roots scene (Including The Shiverin' Sheiks, Awkward Family Portraits and Harry & the Hendersons) and led by Kenny's unmistakable signature baritone. Taking influence from a spectrum of sounds from Sun rockabilly, bluegrass, Scottish traditional and church hymns to Nashville pop, doo-wop, ragtime, Americana and calypso.
